Re:Nylon
Nylon has been a major material for Prada. The brand's debut in 1984 of Pocone in its collection of accessories and bags won it worldwide acclaim. Miuccia Prada expanded the collection to include nylon dresses for her own label and Linea Rossa, the nylon-heavy collection of a buzzbeast-ready, sexy diffusion that Frank Ocean recently dressed himself in at the Met Gala. The recycled material is the result of a partnership with Aquafil, a textile yarn producer in Italy which produces Econyl fabric made from recycled nylon waste. It's part of a wider initiative to shift from virgin nylon to re:Nylon throughout the entire Prada portfolio by 2021, The Business of Fashion reports.
